25. WooCommerce Settings – Emails Tab

Video Summary

All right everyone, this is the Emails tab and this is how you can manage all your email notifications. Now I want to quickly explain what you’re seeing here.

And basically you’re seeing all these different actions that are taken on your site or on your store. So for instance, like new ordered canceled order failed order because either credit card information was wrong or didn’t have enough money in their account, order on hold processing completed refunded customer No, reset password, new account fill subscription renewal, authentication, pre order. So these are all different things that are just built into your into WooCommerce. And you can’t and then also to is here’s the recipients of these emails. So the email right here is the admin email that’s attached to your WordPress site. The rest of these are customer emails.

And but they don’t really allow you to do a lot of editing and so like let’s just say for instance, let’s do a let’s do a new order. Let’s just try. Let’s just manage this. Now pretty much the email type but you can choose between plain text, HTML, they have HTML, like and everything is working great. There. Now, you can enable or disable, but really like you can’t, you can’t go in and play with HTML for these. But the good part is I’m gonna leave this go back and do this this tab. The good part is is that there’s add ons where they allow you with a drag and drop email builder so you can build your own emails so that way, every single action that happens if someone gets a new order, or someone gets a someone or if it gets cancelled, or if they get refunded, you might be able to add a coupon code to try to get them back. Even though the order maybe not important out with you guys are there’s a ton of really good stuff that you can set up with with those add ons and I’m gonna show you those a little bit later. But for right now, what I usually do for my store is I just lean into what WooCommerce gave me. But I have edited some really nice emails for some larger ecommerce clients. So again, we’ll go over that into the extension and the add on sections of this WordPress course. But if you just keep scrolling down, you can set up your from name and your actual from address. So the emails will still get sent to the admin email.

Let’s get back into here. And you could paste that in. And now that would be your logo, your header image for your email templates. Alright, now here’s the footer tax and here’s the site title. So for this so let’s say my WordPress blog, remember when you go into customizer, you can change your like this title, the title of your site, or let’s say they leave the company name so it automatically puts that in there. And it says built with WooCommerce. Now if you don’t want to show that you can just delete this and just put in your just site title, and you’re good to go. Right? I mean, it’s not that I’m necessarily embarrassed to use WooCommerce I just don’t really no one needs to know what platform I’m using. Right? I just like let them know hey, we’re just an online company and we have a site that you can buy from right now. You can also change these colors and really like the base color. I leave the black because that’s the text color, the background color.

So you come here and click save changes. Now all your emails will have will be from clutches of development or your business name, your generic company email. your federal tax will have your site title. You could put your logo URL right here and you’d have your logo branded for your emails and now you have your color that’s attached to your your business, your brand and your basic branded these emails. Now you can click here receive email locations with additional guidance and complete the basic store setup and helpful insights.

I would not do that. Do that. I mean, you can do that on your own risk. But what will probably happen is that you’ll start receiving emails to that they’ll freak you out and be like, oh, like WooCommerce will say hey, you should you should you should set this up or you should do this or you know, have you thought about this and then you’re on their mailing list where they’re gonna keep sending you stuff to try to upsell you. So completely up to you.

If you want to just be in for like up to date with everything that WooCommerce is doing. You can go ahead and set that up but I prefer not to as a business owner. And if you’re if you’re a new business owner, you’ll find out that you will get spammed to death if you sign up for too many. Email us so that being said, this is the basic default version of emails and let’s move on to the last two tabs in the next video.
