Video Summary
All right, everyone. So I’m going to show you guys how you can manage your subscriptions.
Just a heads up with this example. I’m doing it from my actual own personal website. Because I because you could really in order to set up subscriptions, you need a valid or a live merchant service account to accept payments, because we can use cash on delivery for we can use cash on delivery for this example because we’re going to need to collect money on a recurring weekly monthly yearly basis. So what I did is I just use one of my hosts my my basic hosting package, and I created a couple of coupons that was able to allow me to purchase this for free, not only the initial payment, but the recurrent payment was free as well. So I was able to sign up, but I want to be able to least show you guys how you can manage your subscriptions. So if you look over here, we got WooCommerce and we have subscriptions. Alright, so I have this open, and I have this blocking because I don’t want to I want to get the privacy of my other clients have their subscriptions they have with me whether it be their hosting marketing or web development services. So what I did was I just clicked on or right clicked or done or do the two finger tap if you’re on a Mac and opened up this subscription number into a new tab. All right, and this is what I have right here. So when you open up the or when you open up your subscription page, this is what you will see. So you get subscription actions which you can choose you can regenerate down download permissions. If that was your subscription, you can do a process renewal and create pending renewal order. So basically what will happen is is sometimes you’ll have a recurring payment and the maybe the customer’s credit card expired, maybe they don’t have any money in their account or maybe their their credit cards maxed out because they just purchased a bunch of inventory. It was just all things that happened while managing clients. So you could do you could try and click Process renewal if that happens or you can create a new pending renewal order to basically and then if you click update, it means that they’re gonna go ahead and recharge the card.
Now, if you scroll down, this is very similar to the orders page. But right here is your schedule. So you This is where you can say you can change it up and say it’d be every second month or every third month, or you could do you could change it up and do a week, day, week, month or year. Now I recommend if you if someone purchases something that was on a monthly recurring basis don’t update it to a week and start charging them four times a month because one that’s unethical to lie especially if you don’t do it without their consent. So be careful that you don’t change the setting or potentially maybe get yourself in hot water with some of your clients.
You can choose when the trial is going to add. So let’s say if this was a product that allowed for us to a product that allowed for us to have a free trial, maybe with this subscription, maybe you’re working with or you’re talking with a client and you want to give them a couple extra days. You can edit that there, you can edit your next payment and potentially when the subscription will end for them. You also have subscription notes down here and you can add your own notes as well. Now, again, this is very similar to the orders page but I did open up the same orders page. And basically this order is the order actions right here a little bit different. They’re more based on the original payment of this product and not necessarily about the subscription and also to is you don’t have any space to actually edit your subscriptions like you do over here, like I showed you with the scheduling tab. So besides that the pages are pretty much the same. But you know, if you’re doing subscriptions, knowing where to access this can be very useful. So I’m gonna stop this video here and we’re gonna go over the settings of subscriptions and then we’re going to move on to the next add on so I’ll see you guys in the next.
