Video Summary
All right, everyone. So we’re going to hop into products first. And the reason why we’re going to have an approximate first because I think it’s the most logical sense when we build out a store is that I’d like to have all of our products set up first, right? And then I want to make sure that they’re being displayed and being found on our actual website. And then and then once everything seems to be working, then I like to go in and set up all of the storage settings through WooCommerce. Right, like we’ll set up our store or address our store details. We’ll set up our shipping. We’ll set up our tags, if we if we want to charge taxes through the site right. We could set different Shipping Classes and so on right, all that can be done when when the when the site’s already there. So what I want to do first is, let’s go through and just understand the Products page right here. And then what we’ll do is we will go in looking at a some of the products that we have already and then what we’ll do is we’ll start adding new products of our own and we’ll set up different product types.
Alright, so starting off in the in the for all products page, and basically what you get here is you get to see one eight products at a time. But if you want to see more you can look at our screen options. And you can pick which columns you want to see actually to so if you if you don’t want to see SKU or the stock, you can pretty much just say if we unclick stock, you won’t see that anymore.
And usually what I like to do is if you put too many on here, it will slow down your site because it’s having to display so many products but but also to is you know I think anywhere from between 50 and 250 is kind of like the map that you can do with display and so I’m just gonna do 50 For right now because that’s all we’re really going to need for the time being. And I just want to see all of our products on one page right I don’t there’s no page nation right? Here. So let me scroll up.
Alright. What you can do is is like you have the options just like we do with pages is that you can multi click and you can edit or you can trash. If you edit this look at it and we click apply and now you can net you can you can make changes to all these products at once, which can be nice. So let’s say you wanted to put everything into his own shipping class, right? You can set that up here. If you want to hide certain products you want to set maybe you know future do you want to assign them to a new category? You can set that all up from here. Rarely would rarely will you do the whole like your whole store at once. But if you needed to you essentially could do that from right here.
So this is the product page, I think I think the next will actually while we’re still here, well let’s hop into one. Let’s hop into the actual product. So when you hover over one of these products, you can click edit, Quick Edit, then we’re just going to throw it in the trash bin just you know basically, you’re not necessary deleting it Yeah, you’re just putting it in the trash and you can empty the trash later. You can view the product so you can open that up into a new tab if you wanted to.
All right, and which is fine. And if you can duplicate it as well since have you wanted to sit like that like that when you duplicate products. It can be a very helpful tool when you are setting up multiple products at once, or like you’re doing batching but for right now let’s just click on edit and we’ll kind of just get an idea of what our product page looks like. And we’ll probably stop the video here. And that way, we can just go through and I can explain everything that’s going on with this with this product page. So I’m gonna stop the lesson here and we’ll hop over and we will review this product page and get a better understanding how we can manage and edit our products, see the next lesson.
