Video Summary
WordPress application or Platform Installer. So when they when you set that up, they already set up the optimizer and security for us, which is great. So what I’m going to do is this is just the homepage or the dashboard for the security and Rumson go through all of these sections. And then what I’m going to do is I’m going to go over some extra plugins if you want that extra security and I’m gonna go through is some things to look for if your website ever does get hacked. So we’re going to set that up in this lesson but right now let’s go over the basics of what’s already set up on our website. So we’re gonna go here to just site security.
Right? So these are just the things they already have implemented here for us. So they walk and protect our systems folder. So basically, when we import and use any plugins or themes with our site, all the code is set up and organized in nice little folders. So like basically what this is doing is helping helping hackers are preventing and trying to prevent hackers from actually implementing malicious code in those folders and also hide what version of WordPress you’re in because basically people will go into your will try to find out what version your website is, or your WordPress. You haven’t updated that. There might be some portable builders, so they’ll come in and try to pack that for you.
So basically, if you want to vote or if you don’t want to enable it, I think activity log is great. It’s something that you’ll be able to go back in and check and just see you know, who’s on here and who set everything up. So that’s just a quick insight or let’s do post hack actions. I forgot about this section as well. So if you did get hacked, for some reason, you can reinstall all the free plugins that you have. Just in case like there was something malicious added to some plugins. Also to is you can force password resets for everyone. And basically all like if someone on your site at the time you can collect rewards password reset and everyone can be locked out immediately and then they have to add a new password because maybe some maybe it was someone maybe it was like one of your employees you don’t know for sure. And maybe they had a really crappy password. You can force them to reset that. And also to is if you and this might not necessarily be for security, but you can force the Logout all users. So let’s say you need to go into maintenance mode because you’re either fixing something that where you got hacked, or potentially if you or maybe you just want to change something or like your prices have changed, right? sson.
