6. Maintenance Mode Plugins

Video Summary

In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how we can put a coming soon page on your website.

So when users type in your URL, and they’re not logged in as an admin, they won’t be able to see the website that we’re working on. They’re only going to be able to see a coming soon page.

And why is that important? I remember when I was first building my first website for my company I would be I would be out networking and I had an email address that had, you know, events at clusters of a bellman.com and I’d be having that on my business cards.

So people would see that business name and no, okay, well, I’m going to type in that URL. And they would go to my site and see what it is. Now if they saw coming soon page or a maintenance page, they would get the, the understanding that it’s in maintenance mode. They’re they’re working on it. Not a big deal.

But if they were if they came in, let’s go over here to under my WordPress, if you hover over, let’s go to visit site.

Now, if they came to my site here, and they saw this, they wouldn’t be like, Is this even a site what is going on?

And when we’re building this, we want we don’t want the public to see it until we’re ready. Okay, and this is how we’re going to set this up.

This is a great way for us to be able to shield the public from looking at us while we’re building. while we can actually just get to the nitty gritty and build these awesome sites.

So with that being said, I think we should hop over to the next lesson where we’re going to be able to learn a little bit more about the site ground tools, and being able to build subdomains and how we’re going to benefit from our development with that.
