Video Summary
And now I’m gonna show you how you can access the WordPress admin dashboard without having to go to segment. And the reason why this is important is because 98% of the time when we’re working on our website, we will not have to be sacred to do so. Now I mentioned the previous video that if you ever get locked out or once you access your admin page, this way you always had but obviously even easier way to access this. And what we’re gonna do here is instead of clicking here, and logging in, we’re gonna open up a new tab and obviously you don’t have to, you can just type it in.
And what I’m going to do is, let’s just go to the site first. So what we’re looking at here is that just gave us with a WordPress installation now you might not be seeing the same exact thing and that’s okay because WordPress changes their standard time and if you use WordPress, commerce, installation, they have a different theme that you might be seeing because that has that restore capabilities that this might not be.
So what we’re going to do is from here, is we’re going to come over and we’re going to go to the end of our URL right here or go to a forward slash and that’s right under the question mark, on your keyboard and we’re gonna type in WP for WordPress, Dash. Forward slash, and what we’re gonna do is right, hit enter, and we’re going to find our blog. Now in future in future tutorials, we’re gonna go over how we can style this logo here and style the background because right now everyone should see this. Press login. And when you go here, you can use your username or you can use your email address. I prefer using my email address on my site, say lower so, if you use your username More times than not, you’ll have maybe the first letter capitalized and maybe some other letters capitalized.
Now if you don’t have those just right, sometimes we’re oppressively back from Maryland. So I just prefer using my email address just makes it super easy and over here, obviously I typed in my password once I’ve logged in, you should see this admin dashboard. So we’re just easily able to come in here using WP admin, URL login and now we’re in the backend. So we’re gonna hop on the next video, we’re going to show you how we can put a cap on our website. So that way when someone comes to our URL, they will be able to see the changes and stuff I’m working on. So that being said, We’re hop on to the next lesson.
