Video Summary
In this section we’re going to cover how we can use these really cool shapes to set up overlays. Now, if you want an arrow, you can set up an arrow, you can set the thickness, how you want your, your arrow to point, your opacity, how thick you want it. You could do different colors. You could do a gradient, you could do a pattern. You know, there’s a whole bunch of different stuff that you can use. I’m not gonna go through all of them. But if you want to use an arrow, you want to use a line.
But really, what I like to use the most is is the full rectangle and here’s why is that we’re gonna come here and we’re gonna make this dark and we’re gonna put the Opacity at, say 47. Right? And what we can do is we will darken this picture up, and we’ll be able to play around with how this looks. And the reason why this is so important is because when we’re working with our, our WordPress page builders and our different elements that we’re working on, we’re going to have a graph sections where we’re going to have like, text overlay on this photo. So let me see if I delete this and let’s take and, really, let’s just say this is a nice blue, right? But if we put it over, there’s not a lot of good places where it really stands out. You know what I mean? Like, we put it right here, you could barely even read it, especially to if you’re scrolling through a site, you probably wouldn’t even see this right? So what we’re going to want to do is let’s just say let’s make this text and say this is a headline and you know, you can also choose, you can play with the different fonts here. Most of this one looks kind of cool. Let’s just enter this and let’s take this down a little bit because it’s a little bit large. But say this is the headline and know what, for this example, I think we’ll just have it like this one, right. So this you can kind of see it over here but then it blends in over here and it doesn’t really pop. So when we’re in the WordPress editor, a lot of times what we’ll do is we’ll make this will make this text white, right? So again, you can see this over here. Really well but when it gets into a white background, it tends to bleed out. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to come over here to our little rectangle, that’s the full one, not the squares we do the square is just or the one that’s not filled. It’s just pretty much a border. We want we want the one that’s actually all the way full what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna come here, and we’re put this in the corner, or bring it all the way down.
And what we’re gonna do is we’re come over here when I send this to the back, and as soon as we pull this to the back, we just darken this photo, just a little bit, right, and so we don’t really have, we’ll just say we’re at 50 or 50% opacity. So but by doing this, our headline pops out, you can see it instantly. And really no matter where we put this, it tends to stand out on its own and this is just a really great way to be able to darken quickly darken a photo so we can put it into our into our page builders and have all the tax overlay be visibly seen. Nothing you know, it’s not going to hide and be hidden within the shadows because again, if we delete this, if we delete that, you can barely read that but now if you put this back how much of a difference that is. So that was just some there’s a tool that we’re going to use a decent amount when we’re in our WordPress page builders so that way we have our images working to the best of their abilities and all of the captions that we have will be easily invisibly seen. Alright, so on the next section we’re going to talk about tools.
