Video Summary

Alright, in this section we’re talking about the display property with the value none. This is one of the most important properties that we will use as WordPress developers. The reason why is that as WordPress developers, we’re going to be leveraging themes and plugins and features that other developers have built. And once in a while we’ll encounter certain features or parts of those themes or plugins that we’re using, that we don’t really want, or we don’t even want to use. And if we wanted to delete that, from that theme, or that plugin, we would have to go in and sift through, like 1000s of lines of code, figure out exactly where that feature is, and then change that ourselves. And that will require us to know, not only HTML, but we need to know CSS, we will need to know JavaScript, PHP. And as WordPress developers, we don’t need to know all of that. And also too is that for us to take away certain elements, or certain features from that section that webpage this site.

All we need to do is just target that certain element and put display none and it will no longer be there. And this was a quick, fast, easy way for us to manipulate our website and our web pages without having to know or go through tons of lines of code to do so. So that being said, I think we should hop over to code pen and then we’re going to dissect an actual website using the Inspect tool through Google Chrome, and I’ll show you the real power of what we can use with the display none property and value.
