Video Summary

In this lesson, we’re going to talk about letter spacing. And it’s just how it sounds. We’re just going to dictate what space we want in between each letter of every word that’s on our page or in a certain section of our page. And this really comes into play when we’re talking about headings and different fonts. So once you are in WordPress, and you’re going to be utilizing certain fonts that the themes already kind of implemented into that theme and other developers implemented that theme. So what what’s gonna happen is maybe you want a heading to go or it can be a little bit larger, but the more the bigger the heading goes. Maybe some of that font maybe some of the characters are overlapping each other and or they just need a little bit of extra spacing and you don’t really like how it’s looking so using letter spacing can really help with that. So let’s hop over Copeland and show you what I’m talking about. So right here, we just have a regular paragraph. And we want to change the spacing between the words so we’re going to do letter spacing, and let’s try five pixels.

Alright, so basically what we did is we just took this paragraph and we made it about like five pixels between each letter or each letter of every word. Now what happens if we do say 45 pixels? Now it becomes almost like a word search, right? You’re never going to want to go too crazy with this. But maybe what happens we do one pixel. You know, maybe that like just putting that by poor or one or maybe to pixels might end up giving a better look and feel for your heading or your paragraph. This is pretty straightforward. you rarely run into this but once in a while, your headings might not look that great, and you want to add a little bit of extra spacing between each character and this is how you’re gonna be able to do it. So let’s hop on to the next lesson learn more about the next.
