This is some text in a paragraph.
Video Summary
In this section we’re going to talk about the paragraph element. This is a pretty straightforward, common sense type element, it just just we just use it to be able to structure our paragraphs to make them look clean. I’m gonna hop over to code pen. And basically what I have here is if we look at the top, let me kind of zoom in real quick. I have my p tag here. This is a paragraph and then my closing p tag, right. So now let’s back this up. So once the new paragraph, the second paragraph here, as you can see, it puts it down for another line. So really what we’re doing is is we’re saying each we’re putting each paragraph into its own paragraph tag, so that way when the website interprets it, it’s like we just hit enter, and we were just typing a paper. So basically, that is the idea for setting up multiple different paragraph tags. Now as we can see, as I put it in a lot of these kind of the same sense over and over again, because I want to show you that as as, as this section is one in between one tag that is going to write out the whole text until it reaches the end of the page and then it goes down to the next one. Right. So now if we were to go and say we wanted a another paragraph, we can copy and paste this.
And I will just click down here and it will populate. So that’s how we’re getting all these different paragraphs, but the one thing I do want to say as well, I think might be important. Is that the way that the code, the code editor, the code interpreter, the system that’s actually reading what we have in this section right here. Only considers a space as one. What I mean by that is that if we come here behind this word, and we just keep putting the space, the code editor is not going to add that extra space. So just keep that in mind when you’re typing. If you are someone who likes to do a double space between sentences that it’s not going to show up on the site and if you are trying to if you’re trying to structure your paragraph to go to the next line you can do it by space. But let’s just say instead of and this is going to be the next section, but I’ll give you a little teaser is this is called a break tag and we don’t need a we don’t need a closing tag on this but if we just put b r and then wrap that around, and we come down here and click.
Now we just taken this word or this section right here and we put it down to another line right here, right? So this section goes all the way to the end comes wraps around and then we just broke it into another line. I’m gonna go into that section a little bit more in the next in the next tutorial. But that’s just a little teaser on how if you’re trying to style something that you can break something to the next line and also to is note that when you put in the different paragraphs, so technically we have three paragraph sections, and that breaks it to a almost like a double enter right? But this one only broke it down to the next line. So there is a cool little way that you can kind of organize your content. If you are not trying to have all of your senses go across the page. going to be a lot easier once we get into the Word crest platform and we’re developing our site, but for just understanding of the p and being able to manipulate that using a br tag right here could On the next section where I break down the br tag a little bit more.
