Video Summary

Right now we’re gonna go over visual studio code and code pen. These are just basic coding editors that developers use to write their HTML or CSS or JavaScript or PHP. They use these for their different coding languages to be able to test out and build websites and applications. 

Visual Studio code is a really robust coding editor. I don’t require you guys to download this because we’re going to use code pen just to be able to go through the examples of what these different elements are and how we can interact with them. 

If you choose to download Visual Studio code, I am going to go through a couple of steps and wrap this over here. 

This is what the coding editor looks like. They have it set up to where I have the what they call a boilerplate which is just basically the HTML outline right here. And I’m just gonna go through so that way you guys can see the what a full web page will start to look like with a full HTML because as we are building our sites, we’re going to isolate and manipulate different elements as we go on. So I think it’s pretty important for you to see the full picture of what we’re trying to do. But with code pen, if we click start coding, this is where we can just put in HTML elements here. 

So before I go into Visual Studio code, and showing you what a full HTML website looks like, I just wanted to give you these links and the opportunity and the explanation that I don’t expect you to download Visual Studio code but if you wish to and you want to be able to play with some stuff by all means you can download it here. Pick whichever operating system that you are using. 

If you have a PC, you can use Windows. If you’re using a Mac, you can use your Mac OS and if you have a Linux you can download everything right here. 

But that being said, let’s hop into the next section where I start talking about the boilerplate and the HTML and how a normal HTML structure looks like.
