Video Summary

We’re gonna talk about the divide slash section, which is more commonly known as the div tag. And the div tag is now leaving structure or device section. A lot of the developers have pretty much every single developer that uses WordPress uses divs. And basically, if you come down here and look at this section, we just basically divided or consolidated the h2 and paragraph, one section. So to better explain that I’ll show you what I mean. So if you come over here, I just copied and pasted so they’re basically identical. Now this is getting into a CSS, some of the CSS stuff we’re gonna go deeper into that will be in there but I still want to just to give you the idea of how powerful tags are. So basically, what I did is the second one was I created a class and we can name this whatever we want, but this is just a distinctive marker to be able to target this section is for any kind of styling that we want. So I have some styling over here. Basically, what I did was the same element I made the background white padding around it. 

 

So what makes these div tags so powerful, is that these developers can use these different sections and they break free, awesome layouts is now being able to understand how to target different types of certain elements on the WordPress site. So we’re gonna go deep into that, but I just want to show you the power of what ages can actually. So if we come over here, and we look at this section, basically how these developers is using different styles. So they were able to take this one section and make this whole cities and then they made another section here we had a border class or a navigation vertical, and they put in a little section here about one and now they have a footer. So using the div is really a great way to be able to target different sections and manipulate. So I’m going to in the next section, I’m going to go in and pick apart like a live website and show you how that website is actually encoded. And how to go in and target. Live sites right now is a really good place to keep learning on HTML and CSS and how they work together and being able to understand how websites work. That will be the next section and after that we are going to hop into CSS the next time.
