Alright, so we’re going to cover the modems child theme and why that’s important. Now, not all themes that you download or purchase through Envato are going to have a child theme, but most of them do because most theme creators understand the importance of it. So really what the child theme is, is that it protects you from any updates that the theme has at any given point. So these WordPress developers like that create these themes for us. They’ll go in and add new features or change new things because as time goes on, you know, things evolve and they want to make sure the theme is up to date. But if you don’t have a child theme and your theme updates, or you update your theme, you might lose out on different sections and it might potentially break your site. But what the child theme does that puts a protective layer on your website. So if any changes come through here, it’s not going to affect your actual website, and I’m gonna they’re gonna have different videos down the road where what you do when you when you don’t have a child theme that’s given to you within your within your package that you’ve downloaded. And it’s pretty easy and there’s just easy plugins that easily set up a child theme for you. But it is important to set up this child theme to protect you for any mishaps of when things get updated. And that way your website doesn’t break or certain features don’t work or potentially you lose different content that you’ve created. So that’s just the importance of the child theme. And I just want to quickly go over that, but we’re gonna hop over the next video and we’re gonna start installing the plugins that are needed to be able to run our site.
