Video Summary

Alright guys, we’re about to download the motions insurance and finance WordPress theme so we can install it on our WordPress platform. So I want you to be on the screen so you can click on the link below this video. 

And then I want you to have your WordPress dashboard open that you’re logged in and you’re ready to you’re ready to go. So for me, I’m doing our demo one at clutch digital courses.com I’m going to be building this website off a subdomain off my hosting plan. 

You can do the same as well. Or you can use local by flywheel where we can build local websites on our computers. So that means that we don’t need a hosting plan to be able to play around and build these sites is completely up to you and how you want to set this up. Conversely, you know that I’m using the subdomain and just a quick refresher, if you forgot, all you got to do if you don’t have your subdomain ready, all I got to do is go to subdomain create demo one, but create and install and manage your WordPress or WordPress plus WooCommerce. So what I want you to do once once you have your dashboard you’re logged in is go over to modems. And if you’re logged in here as well click on download and then this will pop up now I already have a couple of projects on here. So I’m just gonna click clutches or clutch digital courses. But if you don’t have a project, click Create new project and you can put in your business name you can put clutch digital product or push digital courses, whatever you want to name it. It’s just what you have to do. So we can get the licensing terms to use this theme. So I’m gonna go back to recent projects, I’m gonna click clutch digital courses. I’m gonna click Add and download. I’ve already downloaded it just for sake of time, and I have it downloaded into my downloads folder. So what I want you to do from here is once you see the zip file wants you to double click on it. And what’s gonna do is it’s going to extract the zip because we’re gonna have different files within this folder. 

And once we’re in here, this is where we’re going to be able to access the theme and the child. So what I want to say as well is that I’m going to go over the theme and the child theme and what the importance is as we’re installing it, but I want to go over some of the stuff that you get when you open up this folder. So here is the themes and here is the plugins that we might need to add later. More times than not when we are accessing a WordPress theme. It has all the when we when we download and install or download and install the theme usually automatically downloads all the plugins for us but once in a while we will need to manually install 111 or two here and there. We also get some samples and we get different slides. So that would be for the revolution slider, which we’re gonna get here in a second. But the biggest thing what you want to find when you’re here is the guides or documentation folder, and more times than not what it is is it’s an index dot HTML. So this is very similar to when I was showing you the visual, the Visual Studio Code earlier in the lessons and basically all we got to do is right click or double click on this and we’ll just click Open. 

And now we have the documentation for this theme. So when you are working with a theme, sometimes you might want to go in and just have a reference of all these different setup. So how do you set up the header builder? The footer? How do you set the logo? 

We’re going to learn all this as we go, but more times than not. Sometimes I might get stumped and this is a good reference point to go in and figure out anything that you need. Alright, so with this lesson, you won’t really need to go through here because I’m gonna show you everything that you need to know but for future reference, this is a very critical part anytime you’re working with a brand new theme. 

So with that being said we have access to our themes we have access to the extra plugins, we have our guide. Now we’re ready to go into our dashboard and actually build or install this theme and start building our first WordPress website. Pretty exciting guys see in the next lesson.
